“In the end, living a fulfilled life means to me being able to have the freedom (in all aspects) to choose. To have choices and options.”
Very recently, I started a new job at a Fortune 200 company in a sales position–while still maintaining the growth and flow of my business Elite Skate Wear, as well as my various projects including the Young & Ambitious Podcast, this blog, and overall content creation on my creative platforms. A notion I often hear is that it is bad to balance multiple jobs outside of a corporate job, especially if it’s related to entrepreneurship (or just being your own boss). In fact–I was blatantly told by a CEO [of a medium sized business] that it is a red flag that I am an entrepreneur and that it is difficult for me to work at another corporate job while being a business owner.

As a full-time college student, I understand the time consuming assignments we are constantly bombarded with, yet still needing extra cash to spend on food, clothes, books, and all that good stuff. As a “solopreneur” myself, I want to share the entrepreneurship journey I’ve been on these past four years, as both a high school and college student. At the start of 2018, I made an intentional goal to incorporate a good daily habit each day and have continued to add on as the year progressed. The first habit I started to incorporate in my daily routine was simply making my bed every day. If I can’t find the time and self-discipline to do something as simple as making my bed, how the fuck am I supposed to expect myself to be able to do more difficult tasks?
Eventually, this became part of my normal morning routine and every time I don’t make my bed (yes, every now and then when I am in a rush lol), a part of myself feels off. When something becomes part of your daily routine so consistently and you stop doing so, your mind and body will feel off-centered, or what I like to call “not at equilibrium”.
