My Morning Routine

Just a few weeks ago, I started my last semester of college (ahhh) and since then, my schedule has changed a bit in comparison to my Fall semester. I try to keep my mornings as consistent as possible, despite what my schedule is for the day or what time I am "starting my day". And after reflecting, this is what I found to be my typical morning routine.I usually start my mornings between 7-8am, although I am eventually aiming to start earlier around 6:30am just because I love being productive with my time and pushing my discipline. On days I have classes, I will take my time for about two hours to get ready, answer emails, and sip on my morning coffee made with my Nespresso machine. I typically drink the purple or orange espresso capsule mixed with my favorite Tahitian Vanilla creamer from Coffee Mate. I also love adding ice to my espresso or popping it in the freezer for 5 minutes for a nice cold sip, for some reason I love the cold taste with the espresso capsules. While I'm getting ready and enjoying my coffee, I'll try to make my bed if I am not occupied with something else. This is something I've tried to make a consistent habit, since it's such a simple task and it helps keep my room organized and fresh each day.On other days that I have no classes, I will start around the same time but kick it off with a morning workout either at my apartment gym or my favorite Lagree studio called Trim Fitness (located in Orange County, CA). I've noticed over the past two years that my most efficient workout time is in the morning, since I tend to get busy during the day and lack energy to get to the gym in the evening. If I'm feeling more of a relaxing, de-stressing workout, I'll head to one of my favorite yoga studios called YogaWorks for an easy basic class focused on stretching and breathing. When it comes to breakfast, I typically don't eat in the morning because I intermittent fast and so I won't have my first meal until about 11am or Noon. I've learned over the past year that it's not actually necessary to eat something in the morning if you don't feel the need to and it's not the "most important meal" of the day. But--if I am feeling hungry, yes, I will have something to eat like a yogurt parfait, eggs, or a simple protein smoothie.I am a firm believer in being strategic about how you start your morning/day. Not everyone is suitable for waking up at an early time, which is understandable, but if you audit your typical day and notice that you don't get much done, maybe a new wake-up time would be able to shift your productivity and efficiency level. Having a type of routine in the morning is also ideal in staying more aligned and focused with your life, especially if you tend to be "all over the place" with how you go about your week. If I commit to a workout class on Monday morning, I know I'll have to be up by X time and be in bed by X time the night before. This ensures that I make strategic decisions in what I do and that I allocate my time wisely.Anyone else love a productive morning routine?xx
